Why social network Ecademy works…
29 09 2008I have tears in my eyes. What an amazing post by our new friend Tina.
This is pure example, why Ecademy works and why Slovenian people should be proud of our country. As well as proof that being internationalize is something really cool.
Once again Tina, mange tak
Ecademy Events : I feel S LOVE enia
I really DO…………

I am not even sure how long time I have known Andreja Lajh online - or how we met for that matter (but I´m beginning to think that it must have been “faith” ![]()
She is simply such a fantastic woman and super networker, that I couldn’t not resist going to the No Limits Network Meeting in Ljubljana/Slovenia when she invited me !

I had never been to Slovenia before - but I can tell you that I WILL SURELY GO AGAIN !!!
Andreja is organising another No Limits Network Meeting, which I already signed up for - but I have a feeling that I will be back before that ![]()
As said in another blog, and in total agreement with another member that I met there for the first time; Freddy Daems

- I am still “with my head in the clouds” from those FANTASTIC 4 days that I spent in Slovenia = Simply one of my best little holidays ever, and without doubt the BEST Networking event EVER (the whole trip) - let me tell you why…………….
It started the day before my departure;
A FaceBook connection contacts me, after I wrote in my status that I was going to Slovenia - and said that he was going too.
It showed that there was a whole group of Amway people who was going for a big event there.
Result = Great New Networking Contacts!
They even took my picture - thus giving me a memory on my first “landing” in this beautiful country;

On the plane there was a big article on Bled in the in-flight-magazine, so I was lucky to arrive well prepared to my trip there the same day - full of knowledge about their very interesting history through times.

After landing, in 30 degrees sunshine (made me almost miss my beloved Spain again) I was kindly picked up at the airport by a new member of Ecademy; Ranko Pesic

whom also had invited me to stay in their house, as I was to spend time with him and his wife during my stay - but more about that later.
He then took me to Bled, where we saw that beautiful old castle, the museum and astonishing lake area - all simply breathtaking !!
Even if its a tourist attraction, and there was actually quite a lot of people - I already there felt the friendly calmness of this beautiful country - and totally forgot all about the stress of the workload that I had left behind at home (and almost the guiltiness of leaving my dogs home alone ![]()
After that we had a very special local dinner near the airport - which was soo Big, that I could only eat half - and left me wondering why the Slovenian people are not obese at all :-0)
I then had to rush to his house to have a quick shower - and off to the Network meeting.
On the way around Ljubljana, one thing that I noticed was that all the cars seem brand new.
I later learned (and read via Google) that Slovenia is actually one of the former Ex-Yugoslavian´s riches and most well organised countries - embarrassing, but I actually didn’t know much about the country before my arrival (but then again; the country didn’t exist when I went to school - does that count ?)
Anyway - arrived at the meeting, in this adorable Café Evropa 1900 hours sharp - and was greeted by Andreja.
Finally I got to meet this beautiful woman + and her “Co-Leader” in the WEST MEETS EAST - Your Gateway to Europe Club; Geert Conard - you know the man with a “Girlfriend in Every City” (whom I had waited just as eager to meet IRL).

I was also greeted by 2 new friends; Ziga Vavpotic, and his sweet & adorable Monika.
They even meet me with a wonderful gift; “My Very Own Book” - which is simply a MUST for everyone who cares about their mental health and self-development = SIMPLY BRILLIANT
These 2 young wonderful people I am sure we will see much more of, both in Ecademy and the rest of the business scene in Europe!!

(this is NOT Monika - but Penny saying thanks for her “My very Own Book” ![]()
A funny little thing to show you how small the world really is;
after I came home, one of the Danish Amway people that I had met in the plane on my way to Slovenia, also had gotten “My Very Own Book” (which they had sold on their meeting in another part of the country).
Then (I almost said of course
my dear, dear friend Victor (”Wine/Olive Oil Star” Marques) from Portugal was there in the door - with a big hug and a glass of his own great wine….

………as was our beloved “Parents”; Penny & Thomas of course - always giving a Big Welcome Home Hug (no matter where in the world we meet).
We had a great evening, with wise words from both Geert and Penny - in a fantastic atmosphere created by Andreja + all the new Slovenian friends - what a lovely people !!!
Next day turned out to be one of the best travel days of my life - I am soo grateful to you Andreja - for arranging such wonderful events for us! And 2 in one day = soo many wonderful impressions that it took a while for it all to sink in!
First we went to the town of Zemono to the famous chief Tomaž Kavčič in his simply adorable restaurant Gostilna Pri Lojzetu. Andreja said that he is known as the 4th best chief in Europe - but I am not sure about that !
I think his maybe one of the best in the whole WORLD - I have seldom had such a fantastic meal - with the most wonderful decorations, followed by the nice local wines, and presented by a most entertaining Maitre D = ***** in my book !!!

Then we drove on, in a nice big bus - where we had the chance of more 121´s (like from the beginning of the day) - until we got to The Fonda Family Fish Farm - WAUU
We were welcomed by Irena Fonda (now a new Ecademy member of course
who then took us out on their brand new boat, to see the actual Fish Farm, and how they are feed by hand (loving hands I might ad - the family really loves their fish - wish we got to taste a bit later).

It was a little bit cold and wet - but I had brought Danish Aquavit - to help us get warm again at the following dinner ![]()
That took place, it seemed to me, in a private home (never really realized if it indeed was a public restaurant - because it simply had the feeling of a home).

Back home in Ljubljana, I was picked up again by my new friend Ranko - who drove me straight home to bed - to rest for another Very Exciting day!
Here is where they took me………..

First we had to catch the horses, who lives out side all year - in this Beautiful countryside - and then we had a great long ride, Ranko some of his friends and me - wonderful !

It had actually dropped more than 20 degrees in temperature since the first day - but what a fresh mountain air - wauuu what a glorious day

Again - I didn’t have ANY problems falling a sleep, after yet another GREAT day of wonderful happenings!!
Monday, I had to leave this beautiful country - but not before spending just a little bit of time in the capital Ljubljana - where I got to do some real good shopping in a little, very special, shop called Gorgeous. They sell this great design called; “De Puta Madre 69″ - a well known Spanish expression used when something is Really Good (but directly translated do not sound very nice
- Highly recommended !
I got myself a nice pink (my favorite “menopause” color) T-Shirt with the words; Rich Bitch - just to celebrate my decision, and acceptance from our Bosses - to become the future City Leader of The Kingdom of Denmark - but about that in another blog ![]()
Off to the airport - Hasta la Vista to my new friend Ranko (with a little tear in the corner of my eye) - totally “burned out”, but could hardly stay awake in the airplanes - if it wasn’t for all the wonderful impressions of the last few days that kept me awake.
Surely Slovenia and all my new friends there - as Arnold says;
I´LL BE BACK - SOON!!!

Vi ste izreči dobrodošlico ter najlepša hvala, dragi prijatelj !!
